Ammon News - The Cabinet Sunday approved the reasons for a draft amendment to the law regulating the general budget and the budgets of government units for 2022.

The amended draft law is in line with the amendments to Article 112 of the Jordanian constitution: "the draft general budget law, including the budgets of government units, shall be submitted to the National Assembly at least one month before the beginning of the fiscal year by the provisions of the constitution."

The Cabinet amended its previous decisions on issuing ordinary Jordanian passports (without a national number) to encourage investment.

The amendments stipulated that the actual investment volume for each investor should not be less than JOD400,000 in Amman and its development areas and JOD200,000 in the rest of the governorates and development areas.

The amendments stipulated that the number of Jordanian workers subject to social security in a facility for each partner should not be less than 20 employees in Amman and its development areas and ten employees in the rest of the governorates and their development areas.

The amendments stipulate that an investor should have 75 Jordanian employees registered with the Social Security Corporation (SCC) in Amman, Irbid and Zarqa and 50 Jordanian employees in other governorates.

The Council of Ministers also approved the criteria for renewing ordinary Jordanian passports (without a national number) to encourage investment for those holding them before 2014.

The Cabinet approved the recommendations of the committee tasked with looking into claims between taxpayers and the Jordanian Customs Department to settle 19 cases of taxpayers and violators, provided they commit to paying the amounts plus any fees, taxes or expenses within two months from the date of this decision.

The Cabinet appointed Khitam Salem Suleiman Shuneikat as director-general of the National Aid Fund (NAF).
