Syria calls for facilitating flow of goods with Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon

Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Qatna, called for facilitating the flow of goods and products with Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon.
Qatna affirmed during a meeting for ministers of agriculture of Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq in Amman, on Sunday, the importance of focusing on steps can reach these four countries for achieving Food Security by facilitating the exchange of products, information and joint work to develop production and rise the efficiency of the use of inputs and natural resources.
It is important for Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon to have an agreement that enhances joint cooperation for facilitating the flow of goods between them, calling other Arab countries to join this quadripartite alliance, he said.
He explained also that joint cooperation and agricultural economic integration between the four countries increase their capabilities to address emerging global crises, and what they could lead to in food supply shortages, disruptions in energy and food markets and prices, transportation difficulties, in addition to the impact of climate change on Natural resources and agricultural activities, in order to enhance resilience, contain the consequences of these crises and recover from their effects.
