Ammon News - Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court and head of the Royal Initiative Implementation Committee, Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, inaugurated a new public park in the Douqra area of Irbid on Saturday.
The project, undertaken as part of a series of royal initiatives directed by His Majesty King Abdullah II, aims to enhance community services and local infrastructure in response to the needs and priorities of the region.
Al-Issawi also toured several ongoing royal initiative projects in Irbid, including an eco-lodge in the Yarmouk Nature Reserve and a multi-purpose hall and rural products exhibition operated by the Irbid Development Foundation.
At Douqra Park, which was developed in collaboration with the Zaha Cultural Center, Al-Issawi inspected facilities that serve as a recreational space for residents of all ages, featuring green areas, children’s play zones, and family-friendly amenities.
In the Yarmouk Reserve, Al-Issawi reviewed the eco-lodge project, designed to attract domestic and international tourists. The eco-lodge will feature 20 chalets, a guesthouse with 10 rooms, a visitor center, a restaurant, and panoramic hiking trails, all intended to boost sustainable tourism in the region and create job opportunities for the local community.
Al-Issawi also assessed progress on the multi-purpose hall and rural exhibition space in the Kasbah area, a four-and-a-half-dunam site aimed at showcasing local agricultural and homemade products, as well as hosting cultural events and seasonal fairs.
He concluded the visit with an inspection of King Abdullah II Gardens in Irbid, a 178-dunam recreational and cultural complex opened by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in 2015, which serves as a community space for residents of northern Jordan.
Al-Issawi highlighted that the royal initiatives, a priority for His Majesty King Abdullah, focus on providing dignified living conditions, improving local economies, and ensuring equitable development across Jordan’s governorates in partnership with government bodies and civil society organizations.
