Ammon News - The Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Mishaal Al Ahmad, Tuesday issued a decree dissolving the National Assembly.

The decree was based on Article 107 of the Kuwaiti constitution and the Emiri Order issued on November 15, 2021, to seek the assistance of the Crown Prince to exercise some of the emir's constitutional powers.

The decree indicated that the dissolution of Parliament comes as a "correction of the political scene and its incompatibility, lack of cooperation, differences, conflicts, personal interests and the lack of tolerance."

The decree noted that due to"practices and behaviours that threaten national unity, it is necessary to resort to the people as destiny, extension, survival and existence to reform the course in a way that would achieve its higher interests."

Article 107 of the Kuwaiti constitution states: "The Emir may dissolve the National Assembly by a decree stating the reasons for the dissolution, provided that the Assembly may not be dissolved for the same reasons again."
