Ammon News - The total value of the certificates of origin issued by the Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) for July 2022 stood at $120.4 million, compared to the $123.5 million reported during the same month in 2021.

The decline was driven by the affected purchasing power in the American market and the markets of European Union countries following the Russian-Ukrainian war, in addition to an increase in transport costs, said Hani Abu Hassan, the ICI's Chairman in a statement on Tuesday.

Al Hassan Industrial Estate's exports ranked first, with a value of $113.5 million, followed by Cyber City's exported products with $6.1 million, while the remaining exports came from other industrial zones in the northern governorate, the statement added.

The textile and leather sector maintained a leading position in the sector-based exports, with a value of $113.6 million, followed by the foodstuffs products by $2.2 million, the medical industries sector by $1.5 million, the statement said.

The United States market was the biggest importer, accounting for a value of $92.2 million, followed by the European Union countries with exports worth $7.9 million, and the Arab countries with exports worth $7.43 million, while the remaining shipments went to the Canadian and Southeast Asian countries' markets among others.
