Ammon News - Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment, is organizing the Kingdom's first participation in the four-day Foodex Saudi Expo 2022, which will be held in the capital, Riyadh, on next September 13.

JEA head, Ahmed Khudari, said Jordan's participation in the exhibition is "very important" for Jordanian industrial companies, especially in the current stage, which is witnessing global interest in the food sector.

In a statement on Saturday, Khudari called on Jordanian industry to benefit from the "great, new momentum" in the Jordanian-Saudi economic relations, in a way that contributes to expanding base of the Kingdom's goods exported to the Saudi market.

Value of Jordan's exports to Saudi Arabia accounts for 12% of the total Jordanian exports globally, while the Kingdom's imports from the Arab Gulf country amounted to 15% of the total Jordanian imports, he noted, adding that that the two countries' trade exchanges amounted to $4 billion during 2021.

Jordanian industry, he said, has witnessed a "remarkable" development in recent years, in terms of quality and competition, which enabled it to reach more than 142 markets globally, stressing the JEA's constant endeavor to participate in specialized international exhibitions to enable industrialists and exporters to enter new markets.

The exhibition constitutes an "important" opportunity for Jordanian companies to learn about the latest developments in the food and beverage industry and exchange expertise with participants from different countries worldwide, according to Khudari.

Saudi Arabia is the largest food market in the Middle East with a value of $45 billion, which provides a "great" opportunity for the Jordanian food industry to compete in the Saudi market due to its high quality, he pointed out.

Khudari also stressed the need to continue supporting Jordanian participation in foreign exhibitions, due to their importance in providing opportunities for industrial companies to display and market their products and open new export markets.

He said the exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about food products from more than 50 countries, exchange business and expertise and discover the latest products and technologies in the food industry.

Meanwhile, the JEA's general manager, Halim Abu Rahma, said the largest international chef competition will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, , indicating that the event attracts 12,000 visitors in the field of food trade and industry during its activities.

Abu Rahma called on Jordanian industrial companies operating in the food industry sector to to participate in the exhibition and promote their products.
