Ammon News - Jordan Customs Department (JCD) Director General Maj. Gen. Jalal Qudah on Sunday launched the prior approval project concerned with import, export and transit.
Qudah said that the project is among the leading schemes that the JCD has launched to implement the Royal vision to enhance “true partnerships” among public and private institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He said that the project, in its first phase, has been launched in cooperation with the ministries of investment, agriculture and environment, as well as the Jordan Food and Drug Administration and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation through automating 50 e-services on one comprehensive digital platform.
Director of UNDP Regional Hub in Jordan Khaled Abdel Shafi highlighted the importance of the platform to increase the efficiency and transparency of public services offered to business owners and citizens.
Representative of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) said that the project aims to enhance competitive and economic capabilities and encourage international trade in Jordan through reducing time for releasing inbound and outgoing goods, reducing the number of required documents and unifying references to save time, effort and costs.
The project is the result of continuous cooperation and coordination over two years between the JCD and the concerned public departments with the support of UNDP and finance from SIDA.
