Dhat Ras or Kerakopolis, at the time of the Byzantines, is an ancient town in the southern governorate of Karak, some 140 kilometers to the south of the capital Amman, an old Nabataean Jordanian village with stunning natural scenery.

With its Byzantine, Roman and Islamic landmarks, Dhat Ras constitutes a global destination not only for the wide range of civilizations the area had witnessed but also for its generous people.

Rising about 1200 m above sea level, Dhat Ras has rich agricultural lands with water and springs.

Dhat Ras, which many describe as a tale of a place and time, overlooks the Tafileh Mountains, Afra Hot Springs, the Barbita, the Tannour Dam and Al-Ainah in the south, and the shrines of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and on the desert road in the east, surrounded by mountains and winding roads.

As a result of all its features and with its historical and cultural landmarks, Dhat Ras is an attraction point for tourists from home, region and world.
