 All governorate councils is set to hold their first sessions on Sunday that will be chaired by the eldest member, during which they will sworn in as per the Local Administration Law, based on the meeting invitation extended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan.

Secretary-General of the Ministry, Hussein Mhaidat, held a meeting with directors of municipal affairs in the governorate centers and briefed them on mechanism, logistic arrangements and administrative procedures for the meeting until the oldest member chairs the meeting of the governorate council, in addition to providing all needs and requirements for holding the meeting and holding the elections.

Legal advisor, Nidal Abu Orabi Al-Odwan, also gave an explanation of all legal and logistic procedures associated with holding the meetings.
