Ammon News - A girl, suffering from chronic muscular dystrophy, was transferred Wednesday from Princess Rahma Hospital, in Irbid northern Jordan, to Queen Rania Al Abdullah Hospital for Children in Al Hussein Medical City in Amman, upon directions from Minister of Health, Firas Hawari.

Director of Princess Rahma Hospital, Zaidoun Al-Shorman, explained that the girl was received yesterday after she was transferred from Princess Raya Hospital in Al Koura District, and was supervised by a medical staff specialized in pediatric cardiology and neurology, and she had an echocardiogram and the necessary medical care was provided to her.

According to child's condition it was necessary to transfer her to Queen Rania Al Abdullah Hospital, as she was treated and referred to the hospital previously by a neurologist, Al-Shorman said. He pointed out that her condition is stable and is now receiving the necessary treatment.

The muscular dystrophy is a chronic disease, and leads to a lack of immunity, and needs continuous medical follow-up, Al-Shorman explained, stressing that Princess Rahma Hospital provided the girl with all kinds of medical care before transferring her.
