Municipal director, contractor jailed for 3 years on forgery charges

Ammon News - A judicial committee specialized in corruption charges at Amman Court of First Instance charged a municipality manager and a contractor with forgery and use of faked certificates, and handed down the two defendants the most severe penalties of a 3-year jail.

During a public session, chaired by Ahmed Omari, the court fined the two convicts to pay JD750 each.

According to the trial sheets, the two defendants prepared a fake certificate with their knowledge and interference in the forgery process.

The court also said its sentence is "appealable" and ordered the two convicts to pay the administrative and judicial fees.
