Ammon News - A juvenile and an adult were charged with manslaughter on Sunday in connection with the alleged stabbing death of their neighbour in Amman over the weekend, official sources said.

The 17-year-old minor and the 22-year-old adult were questioned by the Juvenile and Criminal Court prosecutors over the weekend with regards to the stabbing death of their neighbour on Saturday, a senior judicial source said.

The suspects claimed that the 42-year-old victim was entering the building in Nazal Neighbourhood carrying shopping bags and “gave them a nasty look,” the senior judicial source told The Jordan Times.

The suspects claimed in front of investigators that an argument ensued between the three, the judicial source added.

“The adult suspect struck the victim on the head with a wooden stick and the juvenile stabbed him with a kitchen knife,” the judicial source maintained.

The victim and the suspects were involved in a minor altercation a few days before the alleged stabbing incident, according to the judicial source.

“Most probably the stabbing incident stemmed from the feud that occurred among the three a few days earlier,” the judicial source stated.

Investigators will summon the suspects and the victim’s family for further questioning, the judicial source added.

A post-mortem conducted on the victim at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine indicated that the victim died of a single fatal stab wound to the stomach, a senior medical source told The Jordan Times.

Meanwhile, investigators are questioning one suspect in connection with the alleged stabbing death of his relative in the Mugablein area on Friday, the senior judicial source said.

The victim was stabbed once in the stomach with a kitchen knife allegedly by the suspect over a family feud, the senior judicial source said.

“We did not press any charges and are currently questioning the suspect,” the judicial source explained.

All three suspects in the two murder incidents were ordered detained at correctional and rehabilitation facilities pending further investigations into the incidents.
