Ammon News - Incomes and sales taxes collections soared to JD1.334 billion in the first three months of 2022, up by JD98 million or 8 percent from the JD1.246 billion reported in the same period of 2021, according to official data.
Director-General of the Income and Sales Taxes Department Hussam Abu Ali said the rise in tax collections is propelled by post-Covid recovery and the full reopening of the economy. He explained that income tax collections surged to JD346 million in the January-March period against JD277 million in the same period of 2021.
Similarly, sales tax collections increased by 3 percent to JD998 million compared with JD968 million in the corresponding period of 2021.
