Ammon News -

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Monday said during parliament session that the Israeli ambassador in Jordan has been summoned but he was not in Amman.

The minister added that we will summon the Chargé d'Affaires to send “letter of protest” to Israel in which it demanded an end to its violations and acts of provocation at Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

He also reiterated that Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif is a place of worship for Muslims alone and that the Jordan-run Jerusalem Awqaf and Aqsa Affairs Department has the “exclusive authority” to supervise the holy site’s affairs and manage entries.

Safadi stresses that organising visits of non-Muslims to Al Haram Al Sharif is an exclusive right of the Jerusalem Awqaf and Aqsa Affairs Department as per the historical status quo.
