Senate President, Faisal Fayez, Saturday decried the "brutal" transgressions committed by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers against Palestinians and Al Aqsa Mosque.
He condemned the Friday attacks against Al Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian worshipers.
Fayez said: "We in the Senate reiterate that the continuation of these criminal and provocative actions against our defenseless Palestinian people and our Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem will have major ramifications that will lead to escalation, tension and violence.
"The Israeli authorities must stop the attacks and provocative actions in Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.
He urged nations that believe in freedom, the right to life and democracy to move on all levels to expose the Israeli violations and to push governments to take more serious and solid positions to stop "state-sponsored terrorism" practiced by Israel against the Palestinians and their sanctities.
"The silence of the international community and its silence on the Israeli barbaric and racist practices against the Palestinian people and the repeated attacks on Al Aqsa Mosque is a disgrace on the forehead of humanity, which must be confronted and not tolerated..." he added
Fayez affirmed the Senate's absolute support for all efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to protect occupied Jerusalem and the steadfastness of its people, as well as the King's firm response to all Israeli measures and decisions aimed at changing the holy city's Arab and Islamic identity and character.
