60K Iraqi oil barrels to arrive in Jordan today

Ammon News - Some 300 tanker trucks carrying 60,000 barrels of oil from Iraq are expected to arrive in the Kingdom in the next few hours, following a supply suspension last February.

Nael Thiabat, Deputy Chief of the Jordan Truck Owners Association (JTOA), told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday said that the oil shipment is now at the Jordanian-Iraqi borders and is in transit to Jordanian soil.

He noted that the crude oil supply from Iraq was suspend about two months ago due to a number of logistical issues.

Under an agreement, Iraq supplies Jordan with about 300,000 barrels of oil monthly at an average of 10,000 barrels daily.
