Home Jordan News Cabinet approves mitigating measures to push tourism sector's recovery 10-03-2022 12:52 AM Ammon News - The Cabinet, in its session headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, on Wednesday approved a slew of measures to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic-induced impact on the tourism sector and support continuity of its work. The procedures included installing fees to license tourism professions, manage and operate tourist sites at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Jordan's Department of Antiquities (DoA), Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), until the end of 2022. Each of the above authorities sets the financial and legal guarantees necessary to complete the full payment of the fees incurred in their favor, and is allowed to renew licenses and contracts, with no financial fines imposed on those installment procedures made at those gov't entities, per the Cabinet's decision. In addition, the government's procedures include exempting Jordan Tourism Board (JTB)'s members from (55%) of subscription and fines fees due for 2021, and relieving the beneficiaries from the 2022 fines, and authorizing the JTB to pay amounts owed to its members. On the other hand, the Cabinet decided to appoint Mubarak Abdul Rahman Khalayleh as Secretary-General of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB).

The Cabinet, in its session headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, on Wednesday approved a slew of measures to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic-induced impact on the tourism sector and support continuity of its work.

The procedures included installing fees to license tourism professions, manage and operate tourist sites at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Jordan's Department of Antiquities (DoA), Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), until the end of 2022.
