The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Wednesday called on Jordanians, who are still in Ukraine's northeastern city of Sumy, to register on a platform the ministry has designated for evacuation purposes, or make contact to urgently provide information for evacuation.

The ministry also announced that 17 Jordanians coming from Sumy have crossed the Siret border crossing on the Romanian-Ukrainian border on Wednesday morning.

In a statement, the ministry said that 120 Jordanians left Sumy on Tuesday and are making their way to the Ukrainian city of Poltava, after the ministry made contacts, through diplomatic channels, with Ukrainian authorities to set up a safe passage for them. It also stated that it is following up on their conditions to ensure their safe arrival to Ukraine's neighbors.

It indicated that 35 Jordanians and their families, who had been evacuated from Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, will arrive in Jordan today.

Since the start of military operations in Ukraine, a total of 1,164 Jordanians crossed the Ukrainian borders to Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova, of those 307 people, who decided to return, have arrived in the Kingdom.
