The Ministry of Health announced 97 Covid-19 fatalities and 39, 979 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom over the 9th epidemiological week of 2022, bringing the death toll to 13,882 and the caseload to 1,654, 677.
To date, there are currently 67,959 active Covid-19 cases countrywide, according to the media statement issued by the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that the number of patients who were admitted to hospitals stood at 704, while 807 cases have recovered and discharged.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded over the 9th epidemiological week, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 73, 150 bringing the total to 1,572, 836 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 603.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of ICU beds in the northern, central and southern regions, has reached 62%, 31%, and 19%, respectively.
With regard to testing, 196,406 tests were conducted over the targeted week, 20.36 per cent of which were positive.
Since March 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 16, 211, 019, the statement noted.
The statement also added that the total number of people who received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine has reached 4,693,794, 4,385,762 have received their second shot, while 576, 264 took the booster jab.
