Ammon News - A wet and cold air mass accompanying a depression centered over Turkey is expected to bring very cold and dusty conditions on Thursday, with heavy rainfall in the northern and central regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Winds will be westerly brisk that may reach 70 kilometers per hour, stirring dust in many areas, forming dust storm in the southern and eastern regions, and causing low horizontal visibility.

The weather department warned of slippery roads and flood formation in areas witnessing rainfall.

Cold weather will persist on Friday, with a chance for scattered showers in the early morning hours. Clouds should gradually decrease into the evening with weaker chances of rain.

Saturday is forecast to witness a slight rise in mercury levels, but cold weather will prevail in most parts of the country, with low-altitude clouds and northeasterly moderate winds.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in Amman today will hover around 12 degrees Celsius, dipping into 5C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 20C, dropping to 11C during night hours.
