Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh Wednesday said targeting Jordan and its leadership through fabrications are "miserable attempts" aimed at undermining Jordan and its leadership.
Khasawneh, who chaired a Cabinet meeting virtually, emphasised that the Hashemite leadership has "always sacrificed the most precious for the sake of the country and the causes of the nation, and defended it with pure blood and souls, and the Jordanians defended it with processions of martyrs that are always supreme and always sublime."
"Our country's honourable history and present and the prosperous future cannot be stained by lies, fabrications, and poisoned arrows," the premier said.
Khasawneh said: "It is not appropriate for us to address those who hide behind fabrications, leaks, and suspicious purposes. Rather, our speech is a discourse of truth in the face of lies and slander, and clarity in the face of fraud attempts..."
He said that the leaks and fabrications and the systematic and organized targeting of our country and its leadership "is moral and political bankruptcy that has reached the lowest level of decadence." He stressed that the fabrications will not deceive Jordanians.
The premier stressed that what spurs those responsible for the fabrications are angered by Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah II's "honourable" position on national and Arab issues, not the least of which is the Palestinian cause.
He stressed that Jordan will remain committed to its principles, praising the role of Arab media outlets in countering the attack on the Kingdom.
"We will not be dissuaded, nor will a king who has dedicated himself to serve his people and his nation be dissuaded from honouring this vow under any pressure whatsoever, and whatever methods and tools are used," Khasawneh added.
