Ammon News - A football-mad superfan got his beloved team's shirt tattooed over his entire torso, and the distinct red and black inking took many painful sessions to completed.

A football superfan wanted to get a tattoo to honour his favourite team but he went a little overboard and got their shirt tattooed over his entire torso.

No one, ever, will question Mauricio dos Anjos' commitment to his beloved Flamengo as he's always wearing their shirt.

Mauricio, from Brazil, had to endure regular trips to the tattoo studio over the course of the year to get his inking finished, as the Daily Star reports.

In total, it took him 32 painful sessions and a total of 90 hours to get the artwork finished - but luckily it didn't cost anything as the tattooist did it for exposure.

Mauricio explained his decision: "I always wanted to have a Flamengo tattoo, ever since I became a fan as a child.

"I got a vulture [the team mascot] with the Flamengo shield on my biceps. Last year, I decided to get a tattoo of the jersey, which is something I'd actually been wanting to get for a while.

"But I thought it would be too expensive - between R$10,000 (£2,000) and R$15,000 (£3,000). So I chose to get something smaller, that covered only part of my shoulder and chest.

"The tattoo artist asked for R$800 (£165), but as we chatted he told me he'd do the entire jersey at no extra cost, just for the exposure."

Mauricio has insisted that he has no regrets following his decision, and the Brazilian will never have to fork out around £40 for another Flamengo shirt ever again.

In other news, Mauricio would not be able to eat at Bedouin Restaurant in Double Bay, New South Wales, Australia, as they have banned people with visible tattoos.

The new dress code and house policy has been outlined in a sign out front of the restaurant.

It states that “visible tattoos”, “designer labelled apparel” and “heavy jewellery” are all prohibited in the controversial move to make customers feel more comfortable.
