President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Nayef Bakhit, has discussed with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong the prospects of boosting Chinese investments in Aqaba and attracting more capital to the coastal city.

In a meeting on Monday, Bakhit highlighted investment opportunities and incentives available in ASEZ, saying that the fact that there are Chinese investments in Aqaba is a testament that the port city is a magnet for foreign capital.

He stressed that ASEZA seeks to reach out to various Chinese provinces to promote investment opportunities and facilities available to investors in Aqaba.

Bakhit underlined the importance of enhancing tourism cooperation through marketing Aqaba's tourist product and attracting Chinese visitors to the Golden Triangle (Aqaba, Wadi Rum, Petra) through low-cost charter flights and launching a new route linking Aqaba with China.

For his part, Ambassador Chen praised ASEZA's continued support for Chinese investors, noting that Jordan's investment environment is among the best in the Arab world.
