Royal Initiatives: New youth facilities opened in Mafraq

Chief of the Royal Court Yousef Issawi Saturday inaugurated youth and education facilities in Mafraq Governorate under the Royal Initiatives, which His Majesty King Abdullah ordered during his meetings with dignitaries of the northeastern region.

Issawi, head of the committee to follow-up on the implementation of Royal Initiatives, opened the new premises of the Manshiyet Bani Hassan Club during a ceremony attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kasbi and Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi.

He unveiled the memorial plaque of the fully-equipped two-storey building and toured its various facilities, including a sports hall, a meeting hall and offices that cater to the youth sector in the region.

At Al al-Bayt University, the Royal Court Chief, in the presence of the university's president Hani Dmour, unveiled the plaque of a closed semi-Olympic swimming pool as well as offices, a logistics building and a parking lot.

He also toured the facilities of the faculties of administrative sciences and engineering at the university, which were refurbished and equipped according top up-to-date technical and engineering standards.

In Al-Baej, Issawi opened a five-a-side playground at the local sports club, which aims to promote the youth and sports movement in the governorate in line with His Majesty's vision to build youth capacities and promote their talents.

In Jubaiha district of Amman, the Royal Court Chief handed over the keys of a new home to a low-income family, part of the Royal Initiative to provide decent housing to impoverished households across the country.

Issawi told Petra in an interview that the Royal Initiatives aim to make "a qualitative leap" in the targeted regions and local communities, and provide an appropriate environment and incubator of youth energies, talents and creativity.

He said that the citizens can feel the positive impact of Royal Initiatives projects and programmes being carried out in the various regions that encompass multiple vital sectors, mainly services, youth, education and social welfare.
