Jordan, US talk climate change

Ammon News - Ayman Safadi, the foreign minister, and John Kerry, the US special presidential envoy for climate, Sunday held a meeting in Amman to discuss the environment and climate change challenges.

The meeting underscored the Jordan-US strategic ties and discussed strengthening cooperation, especially on protecting the environment and combating climate change.

Safadi praised the US for its support for Jordan's development efforts and highlighted its role in addressing regional crises.

For his part, Kerry said that Jordan is a "strong ally" and that the US appreciates its role in weathering and overcoming regional challenges and upholding security and stability.

He emphasised the US's support for Jordan, chief of which are on the environment, climate change, clean energy and water.
