Jordan signs higher education executive program agreement with Libya

Ammon News - The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Sunday signed an executive program in the field of higher education and scientific research with the Libyan government for 2021-2023.

Jordanian Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Wajih Ouis and Libyan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Imran Muhammad Al-Qeeb, signed the agreement.

The executive program, which aims to strengthen the existing Jordanian-Libyan cooperation in various scientific fields, includes exchanging students in various scientific degrees (Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D.), according to a Ministry of Higher Education statement.

The program also provides all the necessary facilitations for all students enrolled in both countries' universities to serve their common interests, the statement added.

Under the program, an ad hoc joint committee in higher education and scientific research is established to regulate Jordanian-Libyan cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research and set their priorities, the statement noted.

The program also organizes joint scientific and cultural events within the framework of "completed" projects, develops a plan to build the workers' capacity in the accreditation and quality assurance fields, and examine mechanisms to recognize universities, certificates and degrees bilaterally and benefit from the remote education expertise, the statement pointed out.

Noting the joint keenness to exchange faculty expertise and visits in higher education institutions, the program launches cooperation to exchange scientific and academic production in the two countries, the statement noted.
