 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Sunday met with Norway's special envoy to Syria and Iraq, Hilde Haraldstad, and discussed developments in efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis and the situation in Iraq.

During the meeting, Safadi urged the international community to support Iraq to tackle challenges and the Iraqi government's efforts to establish security and stability and achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Iraqi people.

Safadi, who condemned the terrorist assassination attempt against Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Kazemi, said that Iraq's security and stability is a cornerstone of the region's security and stability.

Safadi underlined the Kingdom's keenness to develop strong friendship relations with Norway and to enhance cooperation and coordination in various fields.
