Ammon News - The University of Jordan (JU) and Tbilisi State University (TSU) in Georgia, on Sunday signed an academic cooperation agreement in the field of student exchange.

According to the agreement, students in both universities will be able to spend one to two semesters at the other university, and students will be selected according to certain conditions, including the student’s academic performance, 36 hours of study for undergraduate students, and 6 hours for graduate students.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the JU, its president, Nathir Obeidat, and on behalf of Tbilisi State University, Georgia's Ambassador to Jordan, Zaza Kandelaki.

Prior to the signing, Obeidat and Kandelaki discussed various aspects of scientific and research cooperation.

Obeidat stressed the JU's keenness to build external cooperation relations that serve the educational and academic process at the university.

Obeidat also discussed the possibility of increasing the number of Georgian students studying at the JU, pointing out to the university's keenness to continue to advance in international rankings at the regional and global levels.

In turn, ambassador Kandelaki expressed his hope that the agreement would pave the way for fruitful scientific and academic cooperation between the two parties, noting that there are more than 2000 Jordanian students studying in Georgian universities.
