Heatwave to persist over coming four days-JMD

Ammon News - Effect of the hot spell roasting the Kingdom is set to continue Saturday, with mercury recording 4-5 degrees Celsius higher than its seasonal average, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily update.

In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of direct exposure to sunlight during daylight.

On Sunday, a slight drop in temperature is forecast, however the weather will be relatively hot in the highlands and the plains, and sizzling in the Badia regions, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Regarding Monday and Tuesday, the weather forecast will see no changes as a day earlier with southwesterly to northwesterly moderate winds.

Also today, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Amman will range between 37 Celsius degrees, dropping to 26C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a scorching 43C, dipping to 28C durring night hours.
