Hot weather forecast today, dry air mass to settle in Monday

Ammon News - Temperatures on Sunday are forecast to rise 2 to 3 degrees above their annual average during this time of the year, bringing relatively hot weather in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in the Badia region and scorching in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The JMD warned people against direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours from noon to 3pm, and of low visibility caused by dust-laden winds in the Badia.

On Monday, a hot and dry air mass will impact the Kingdom, causing a significant increase in temperatures and making hot weather in the mountainous areas, while it will be very hot in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate winds picking up at times.

As we head into Tuesday and Wednesday, mercury levels will continue to climb with the same sizzling conditions and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

Today, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Amman will range between 35 Celsius degrees and 24 degrees at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a searing 41 degrees, dropping to 29 degrees during night hours.
