12 Covid deaths, 562 cases registered Saturday

The Ministry of Health said Saturday that 12 coronavirus deaths and 562 infections were recorded across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 10,032 and the caseload to 770,712.

The ministry said in its daily brief that the number of currently active cases reached 10,162, with 90 admitted to hospitals today and a total of 594 confirmed cases being hospitalized. It said 36 Covid-19 patients were discharged today.

The occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 7 per cent, intensive care beds 15 per cent and respirators 8 per cent, according to the report.

In the Central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds reached 19 per cent, intensive care beds 29 per cent and respirators 9 per cent, it said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 8 per cent, intensive care beds 11 per cent and respirators 8 per cent, it said.

The daily brief indicated that 675 cases of recovery were recorded today, bringing the total number of expected recoveries after the end of the 14-day isolation period to 750,518.

It also said that 18,634 PCR tests were taken, bringing the total number of tests collected since the outbreak began until today to 8,493,724, noting that the positivity rate today reached 3.02 per cent.
