Ammon News - Troops in the Eastern Military Zone foiled an attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics from Syria into the Kingdom, a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said on Friday.
The source said that the army personnel applied the rules of engagement, which led to the arrest of one smuggler the and the retreat of the rest into Syrian territories.
Upon searching the area, the personnel found 362,600 Captagon pills and 273 palm-sized sheets of hashish, in addition to a Kalashnikov rifle, that were all referred to the concerned agencies.
The JAF source vowed to deal with full force with any infiltration or smuggling attempt to protect the Kingdom and the security of its borders.
