15 Covid-19 deaths, 1,061 infections recorded Sunday

 The Ministry of Health said Sunday that it recorded 15 coronavirus deaths and 1,061 infections across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 9,963 and the caseload to 764,983.

According to the ministry's daily brief, the number of currently active cases reached 8,060 with 61 admitted to hospitals today, adding that 53 cases have been discharged. It said that the total number of confirmed cases that are now hospitalized reached 513.

According to the daily report, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 7 per cent, intensive care beds was 15 per cent and ventilators 9 per cent.

The occupancy rate of isolation beds in the central region was at 16 percent, intensive care beds 27 per cent and ventilators 8 per cent, it said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 7 per cent, intensive care beds 9 per cent and ventilators 5 per cent, it said.

The ministry said that 767 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries by the end of the 14-day isolation period to 746,960.

It also said that 23,888 PCR tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of swab tests that had been collected since the beginning of the pandemic to 8,348,413, pointing out that the positivity rate for the day was about 4.44 per cent.
