Ammon News - Prime Minister and Defence Minister Bisher Khasawneh Sunday directed ministries and public institutions to tighten the enforcement of defence orders and Covid-related regulations and preventive measures, particularly Defense Order No. 32 of 2021 concerning unvaccinated persons.

He told a cabinet meeting he chaired today not to be lax in implementing the regulations stipulated in the Defence Order "in a manner that ensures the safety of workers and employees in public and private sector facilities, and contributes to the prevention of infection with the virus, especially the mandatory two PCR tests a week for those who are not jabbed," stressing that the tests are free of charge at the designated government centres.

The Prime Minister also instructed that updated weekly lists of the double-jabbed employees and those who took the twice-a-week PCR tests be prepared and passed to the prime minister's office.

Furthermore, the premier asked Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya to direct administrative governors to intensify and enhance Covid-19 prevention measures, especially in the governorates, and ensure that individuals and facilities adhere to safety standards.

"This stage, where many neighboring countries and the whole world are seeing a steady rise in Covid-19 infections and deaths, requires the highest levels of care and commitment, as well as more vaccinations to avoid any health setbacks," he said.

Also during today's session, the Council of Ministers endorsed the manning table system of ministries, departments and government units for the fiscal year 2021, among other decisions.
