Ammon News - Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s (PSUT) Vice President for Academic Affairs Wejdan Abu-Elhaija presented PSUT graduates Obeida Mubarak and Youssef Akl with honors for obtaining the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), according to a PSUT statement.
During a ceremony organised by the Careers Guidance and Alumni Affairs Office at the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, Abu-Elhaija praised the honourees for their achievement.
She pointed out that the granting of these honors is in line with the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya, chair of the university’s board of trustees, regarding the importance of maintaining communication with the university’s distinguished graduates and viewing them as “its ambassadors to the world”.
The CPA certification gives its holders international recognition of their accounting certificates and expertise in the science of financial accounting, auditing and work environments. Holding the certification increases the chances of obtaining a job in major institutions. Founded in 1887 and with over 431,000 members around the world, the AICPA is one of the leading institutions in the field of legal accounting, according to the statement.
