Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Public Security Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh Saturday decorated a group of officers on the centennial anniversary of the foundation of the Jordanian state.
His Majesty had earlier bestowed the Centennial Medal on the Public Security Directorate amid the Kingdom's celebrations of the Great Arab Revolt and Army Day for their leading role in the nation's progress and stability over the last one hundred years.
Hawatmeh congratulated the honorees and all public security personnel for the royal gesture, recalling the sacrifices of officers, retirees and martyrs of the apparatus who paid their lives for the service of the country over the past century.
The Public Security Chief also presented a Centennial Medal, which was awarded by the Supreme Commander to deceased Brig. Gen. Mahmoud Awad, to his son for his father's service until his death on the job.
The medal-awarding ceremony was held at the Public Security Directorate in the presence of the Assistant Director of Public Security and a number of senior officers.
