Ammon News - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef al-Fayez, on Friday, took part at the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee, which was organized by UNESCO, via video conferencing, in cooperation with the Host Country, the People’s Republic of China.
Convening online from 16 to 31 July 2021, the session will discuss a number of key issues related to World Heritage Sites, in addition to reviewing 39 files nominated for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It will also discuss the state of conservation reports for World Heritage Sites in Jordan including Petra, Wadi Rum, Al-Maghtas and Umm ar-Rasas, as well as nominating Salt's historical town to be listed as a world heritage site.
