COVID kills 8 in Jordan, positive tests at 2.95 percent

COVID-19 has claimed the live of 8 people in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 9,872, and a total of 661 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 759,686, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The MoH said in a press statement Thursday that 46 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 53 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals stands at 497. It said 2.95 percent of the 22,419 tests conducted today came back positive.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 7,749, the ministry added.
Some 742,065 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
