Ukraine, Jordan have significant potential for strengthening cooperation

14-07-2021 03:11 PM

Ammon News - Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar has held an online meeting with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Yousef Al-Bataineh, according to the ministry's press service.

The interlocutors discussed issues of intensifying bilateral cooperation, including prospects for enhancing political dialogue and economic cooperation, developing the legal framework, and interaction within international organizations.

Dzheppar noted the importance of Jordan's support for the UN General Assembly resolution on the territorial integrity of Ukraine in 2014. She informed her Jordanian colleague about the preparation for the Crimean Platform summit scheduled for August 23 in Kyiv, as well as its main tasks and priorities.

The deputy foreign minister stressed the need to enhance synergy and coordination of international response to the ongoing occupation of the peninsula and the fundamental importance of returning the Crimean issue to the global agenda.

Dzheppar also told her interlocutor about threats to the security of the regions of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov as a result of Russia's militarization of the occupied Crimea, systemic human rights violations, and drew attention to the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

"The Russian occupation administration is artificially changing the demographic situation in Crimea, resorting to repressions against the citizens of Ukraine, and replacing the population of the peninsula with its own citizens," she added.
