Jordan's power consumption rises to 18,425 GWh in 2020-gov't report

Ammon News - The Kingdom’s total consumption of electricity in 2020 stood at 18,425 gigawatt hours (GWh), compared to 17,910 GWh in 2019, according to data issued in annual report of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The Kingdom's total electrical power generation during the past year amounted to 20,952,8 GWh, compared to 20,995.8 GWh in 2019, the data showed.

The maximum load on the Kingdom's electrical system in 2020 stood at 3,630 megawatt-hour (MWh), compared to 3,380MWh in 2019, the figures revealed.

On the distribution of electric energy consumption, the residential and public sectors consumed 9,100 GWh during the past year, or 49%, compared to 8,260 GWh in 2019, according to the ministry's report.
