Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the committee to follow up on the implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah's initiatives, Saturday inaugurated a number of projects in Balqa Governorate, which the King ordered during field visits and meetings with local officials and dignitaries.

During a ceremony attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Al-Kasbi and Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi, Issawi opened the Damia Football Stadium in Deir Alla district, the Al-Ardah Youth Centre in Sihan and the Yarga Youth Centre near Salt.

Youth are at the centre of His Majesty's attention as he constantly directs the provision of all necessary support to them to tap into their energies and creativity, and advance youth work by upgrading their capacities and skills toward creativity, innovation and production. Royal initiatives also touch on the needs of local communities to make a "qualitative leap" that will have an impact on target groups.

In Deir Alla, Issawi inaugurated the Zaha Cultural Centre Park, which includes a centre for developing childhood skills, a 5-a-side soccer playground and a children’s play area with the necessary equipment and games, in addition to other facilities, which was launched in cooperation with the Zaha Cultural Centre and funded by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation within the framework of cooperation and partnership with government agencies and civil society institutions.

The Royal Court Chief also toured a project to build 400 housing units for low-income families in Al-Malaha in the Deir Alla district, as a first phase, where he was told that about 93 per cent of work was completed, besides the infrastructure of the entire project, which will include 800 homes.

Issawi told Petra in an interview that improving the living conditions of Jordanians and providing them with qualitative services are a top priority for His Majesty the King, and that the royal initiatives aim to meet that objective, as they include all social groups and seek to meet the pressing needs of target communities and uplift all sectors in them.

For his part, minister Al-Kasbi said the Housing Ministry oversees the progress of construction and helps to address hindrances at the housing project, which he predicted will be up and running by the year's end.

During the inauguration ceremonies, there was full adherence to the health safety measures and precautions that are in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
