JIC: Diplomatic missions have key role to attract foreign capital

Ammon News - Acting head of the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) Faridoun Hartouqa Tuesday highlighted the Jordanian diplomatic missions' role in promoting added-value foreign investments, business opportunities and advantages available in the Kingdom.
On the sidelines of a training course for a group of diplomats of various ranks, which was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the JIC gave a presentation on the investment environment and the skills necessary to carry out that task, according to a statement.
During the opening session of the training program, Hartouqa highlighted the importance of the role of embassies and diplomatic missions abroad in strengthening the relationship with the private sector abroad to attract investments to the Kingdom and develop economic relations globally to create a shift in the social and economic situation in the Kingdom.
He pointed to His Majesty King Abdullah's constant emphasis on the need to provide a proper economic and business environment to attract investments and provide incentives and facilitations in this domain.
The training program includes presentations on the investment climate in Jordan and the promotion mechanisms used by the JIC and a presentation of Jordan's experience in the field of investment promotion and the top investment sectors that the commission focuses on, in addition to the investment map, market study and collection of investment information.
