Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday inaugurated a special surgery hospital affiliated with the al-Bashir Goverment Hospital for thoracic, vascular, catheterization and heart surgeries.
Khasawneh toured the hospital's various departments and was briefed by the Director of Al-Bashir Hospital Department Abdulmane' Suleiman on the importance of the new facility to provide advanced medical service to patients.
The Prime Minister stressed that the opening of the hospital, which has modern medical specialties and equipment, comes within the framework of the government's plans and programs to enhance medical care and provide top notch services to the public.
The premier instructed that the cardiac catheterization department be completed within a period of one month and a half, and the rest of the hospital in 3 months.
The 75-bed hospital was built on an area of 4,280 square meters and comprises 3 operating rooms and sterilization, radiology, and cardiac catheterization departments, a laboratory, patient rooms with 56 beds, an intensive care unit with 6 beds, a cardiac care unit with 7 beds, and a preparation and recovery unit with 6 beds.
Minister of Health Firas Hawari said that the old surgery building at Al-Bashir Hospital was redesigned to create a special surgery hospital to accommodate the increasing number of patients who need surgical intervention in the fields of thoracic, vascular, catheterization and heart surgery.
The ministry, he added, is committed to improving medical service at all health centers and hospitals, and raising the efficiency and readiness of its infrastructure.
