The impact of the hot air mass that affected the Kingdom last week will start to subside on Sunday, as temperatures will dip few degrees to become around their annual average, bringing moderate weather in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in other regions.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), low clouds are forecast to appear in the northern and central areas of the country with northwesterly moderate to active winds.
The department warned of poor visibility in the morning hours over heights and the Badia region due to fog and dust formation, and of direct exposure to sunlight in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
On Monday, mercury levels will rise again, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist until Tuesday, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 21C or even 14C in the southern highlands. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 40 degrees and lows sliding to 24C.
