Foreign ministry condemns Israeli demolition of Palestinian house, shop in Jerusalem's Silwan

30-06-2021 01:01 AM

Ammon News -

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli authorities’ demolition of a house and commercial facility belonging to Jerusalemites in the neighbourhood of Silwan in the occupied Jerusalem.

The ministry warned that demolitions and displacements are rejected and condemned, and constitute a violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and Israel's obligations as an occupying power, and a deviation from international and regional efforts to stabilize the truce.

The ministry stressed the need to stop the illegal and illegitimate plans to displace Jerusalemites in Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods, underlining the need to stop provocations and attacks and respect the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem.
