Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held a series of meetings and discussions with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Morocco, Lebanon, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Greece and Denmark.
The meetings, which were held Monday on the sidelines of the anti-Daesh Global Coalition meeting and the ministerial meeting on the Syrian crisis in Rome, discussed bilateral ties and ways to develop them, in addition to efforts to resolve regional crises.
In his talks with his counterparts, Safadi stressed the need to find a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with international law and approved international references.
He called on providing adequate support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to enable it to continue its role and tasks in accordance with its UN mandate.
He also underlined the need to exert concreted joint efforts to reach a political solution in Syria, in a way that preserves the unity and integrity of its territory, restores security and stability, rids it of terrorism, leads to the exit of all foreign forces from it, and creates conditions that allow for the voluntary return of refugees.
Safadi urged the international community to continue shouldering its responsibilities towards the Syrian refugees, and providing the necessary support to the host countries and communities and relevant UN organizations.
Safadi reiterated the need to support the Iraqi government in its efforts to establish security and stability, and to consolidate the great victory achieved by brotherly Iraq over terrorism.
