Ministry of Health announced 11 Covid-19 fatalities and 633 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 9, 500 and the caseload to 738, 521.

The new infections comprised 283 cases in the capital, Amman, 119 in Zarqa, 92 in Irbid, including 8 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 22 in Karak, 9 in Ma'an, 11 in Madaba, 6 in Ajloun, 21 in Mafraq, 19 in Tafileh, 9 in Jerash, 28 in Balqa, and 14 in Aqaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The statement added that there are currently 9, 972 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.

The number of hospitalizations today stood at 51, while 60 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.

According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded on Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 636, bringing the total to 719,049 since the outbreak began.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 532.

The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 19%, 22%, and 8%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 21,361 tests were conducted Wednesday, 2.96 percent of which were positive.

Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,358,332, the joint statement noted.
