Ministry of Health announced 17 Covid-19 fatalities and 604 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 9, 489 and the caseload to 737, 888.
The new infections comprised 262 cases in the capital, Amman, 75 in Zarqa, 89 in Irbid, including 1 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 20 in Karak, 34 in Ma'an, including 1 in the southern region of Petra, 4 in Madaba, 20 in Ajloun, 33 in Mafraq, 1 in Tafileh, 35 in Jerash, 22 in Balqa, and 9 in Aqaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that there are currently 10, 276 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.
The number of hospitalizations today stood at 64, while 63 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded on Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 937, bringing the total to 718,123 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 552.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 18%, 23%, and 9%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 22,814 tests were conducted Wednesday, 2.8 percent of which were positive.
Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,336,971, the joint statement noted.
