Senate President, Faisal Fayez

Ammon News - Senate President, Faisal Fayez, on Sunday met, in the northern governorates of Jerash and Ajloun, in two separate meetings, with public and official figures representing various political and social groups, unions, youth sectors, representatives of associations and tribes.

Fayez's meetings were held to discuss key national issues and exchange ideas and visions in their regard, with the aim of coming up with recommendations, initiatives and effective solutions regarding them.

Fayez said that dialogues are based on His Majesty King Abdullah's discussion papers on the future of Jordan and the desired comprehensive reform, including various national issues, foremost of which are administrative and political reforms, economic challenges and combined changes, and are not limited to an issue or topic in itself.

The meetings dealt with national issues concerned with political and administrative reform, the legislation regulating political life in the Kingdom, and key economic challenges, on top of which is the increasing poverty and unemployment rates that have reached unprecedented levels, in addition to many changes that occurred in the structure of Jordanian society, which showed some negative behaviors.

He stressed the importance of changing the approach, especially in light of the Kingdom's access to the centenary, and its achievement during the 100 years of the state's life, pointing out that the political scene must be managed in a different way than it was managed before the Arab Spring and the Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts.

He underlined the importance of the tribe's role, which has stood behind the wise Hashemite leadership in building state institutions since its establishment, stressing that it is the most important political, economic and social component in the country, and the source of its strength and continuity under the leadership of King Abdullah II.

Fayez said that there are parties that seek to sow discord among the members of Jordanian society, which confirms the importance of strengthening the home front and its cohesion and consolidating loyalty and belonging to the homeland and its leader.

For their part, the participants in the meetings presented concerns and issues that impact their lives, stressing the importance of moving forward towards political reforms, by addressing the legislation and laws regulating political life.
