Temps forecast to rise 3-4 degrees above average

Ammon News - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) on Monday forecast that mercury levels will rise 3-4 degrees higher than annual average, making relatively hot weather in the highlands and the plains, and hot conditions in other parts of the Kingdom, with northwesterly moderate to active winds.

Toward Tuesday, a tangible drop in temperatures is expected, becoming around seasonal average and bringing back fair weather in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will be relatively hot in the Badia, and hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the desert, the JMD said.

A further dip in mercury is predicted on Wednesday, so it will be moderate in much regions, and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, the JMD added.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Monday will range between 29 and 34 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 16C or even 12C in the southern highlands. In the port city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 41C and a low of 23C.
